“In the beginning..."

Starting September 3rd 2027, we will start the year studying Colossians, where we focus on the fullness of life in Christ. The rest of the year, we'll study the first 22 chapters of Genesis beginning with an introduction to Genesis on Oct 8. Please join us as we explore the story of God’s plan from the very beginning.

Open registration is now available. There are a limited number of pre-school and nursery spots available, so it’s best to register early if you have pre-school aged children.

To register, simply click the "Register Now" button in the top right corner.

Come See What Happens When Women Discover God Through His Word

We’re a warm, welcoming community of women from all over San Antonio—representing different churches, ages, and backgrounds—brought together by a love for studying the Bible.

At Community Bible Study (CBS), you'll meet new friends and grow in your understanding of who God is through engaging, in-depth study of His Word. No matter if this is your first time studying the Bible or you’ve been digging into Scripture for decades, at CBS you’ll find a supportive environment where we all learn from each other.

Each week, we explore the Bible through personal study, small group discussion, live teaching, and insightful commentary—all in a caring, encouraging space. Participants receive a course book with weekly commentary and home study questions, available in both print and online formats.

We also offer a wonderful program for young children and grandchildren—welcoming little ones from birth through Pre-K. Our full preschool Bible curriculum begins around 18 months of age.

We’d love for you to join us!

Currently Studying: Colossians, Genesis

This year’s 30-week study will begin with Colossians, a letter written to combat error in the church by pointing believers to Jesus as the Head of His body, the church, and reminding them that they have fullness in Christ. We will then move into Genesis 1–22, where participants will explore life’s biggest questions—who God is, why the world is broken, why we are here, and where we can find purpose and hope—as we see God’s beautiful creation, humanity’s noble calling, the fracture caused by sin, and the beginning of God’s plan to put everything back together.

MINISTRIES

Next Gen Ministry

This is our very intentional programming and care for the children and grandchildren of the ladies in our class. Our program serves children from birth through PreK. Through a variety of activities such as Bible stories, Bible verse songs, crafts, music, games and playtime, we seek to provide a nurturing environment where children can learn about Jesus' wonderful love for them. We also come alongside parents as they teach and train their children to live out God’s truths in their lives.

Agape

Agape is our in-depth Bible study for adult women 18 years old and up with intellectual disabities who want to study God’s Word together and share His love. These young women study the same  lesson the rest of the class is studying. We realize that higher functional adults with special needs often get overlooked, so it’s our vision to provide a study     environment where they’ll be treated with respect and care. The goal  is to allow each individual to participate at her level of understanding. Agape is a place where God's Word is shared in a way that can be easily understood through an adapted curriculum and interactive teaching. These young women have their own small group and join the whole class for worship and teaching time.
